Do Our Thoughts Create Energy?

Neale Donald Walsch, one of the contributors to The Secret (the book that popularized the law of attraction) believes that we can create energy with our thoughts and words.

One of the major problems with a belief like this is that the Laws of Thermodynamics state that energy cannot be created or destroyed. So, to believe we are creating energy with our thoughts goes against everything we know to be true about the laws of the universe.
