SatanCon 2023, have you heard!?

The recent event in Boston, called SatanCon, took place from April 28-30, 2023, and was hosted by The Satanic Temple.. According to their website, the event featured various talks, performances, and workshops focused on Satanism and related topics.

While some may view Satanism as a valid religious choice, it is important to understand that the practices and beliefs associated with Satanism are dangerous and can have negative consequences. As the Bible warns in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Christians are called to speak out against the devil's schemes and to actively oppose evil. In Ephesians 5:11, the Bible states, ‘Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.' It is important for Christians to recognize the spiritual warfare that is taking place and to pray for those who may be involved in practices that are harmful or contrary to God's will. Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Despite the differences in beliefs and practices, Christians are called to love their neighbors, even those with whom they may disagree. As the Bible says in Matthew 5:44, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

Video footage from the SatanCon event suggests that some attendees were expressing hateful and discriminatory beliefs, which are contradictory. The assertion that the Bible is oppressive is ironic, as Jesus Himself explicitly grants individuals the freedom to choose Him or not, and because of the influence that the Christian worldview had on the founding fathers, the United States allows that same freedom.

In conclusion, while the SatanCon event may have sparked controversy and opposition from Christians, it is important to approach it with an attitude of prayer. Christians are called to speak out against evil and to pray for those who may be involved in harmful practices. Additionally, it is important to recognize and resist any form of hatred or discrimination, and to live out the Bible's message of love for all people.
